Revolve8: Episodic Dueling

About the game

Revolve8 is a real-time strategy game in which you build a deck of eight cards, led by a hero, and fight three-minute duels to destroy your opponent’s towers. Deck combinations and each hero’s two skills give the battles real depth.

It is set in Imago, an imaginary world of folklore and fairy tales. Under producer Masayoshi Kikuchi (producer of the Yakuza series, director of Jet Set Radio), Koji Igarashi created the character concepts and Ryota-H drew the character designs: a cast of heroes who leap far beyond their fairy-tale origins.

The heroes

The protagonists everyone knows, reborn as modern characters. Red Riding Hood is a girl obsessed with social media, Cinderella a motorcycle-loving pop idol, Kintaro a man who rose to the top of a host club. Aladdin, Sinbad, Urashima Taro, Otohime, the Little Match Girl, Heidi, Thumbelina, the Fairy Godmother and the Wicked Witch join them, each shaking the battlefield with skills of their own.

Battle system

• Eight-card decks
  Four card types: Heroes, Minions, Buildings and Magic. Combine eight into a deck and race to destroy the enemy towers in a three-minute real-time duel.
• Three deck archetypes
  Assault, Siege and Counter. The mix decides how you fight.
• Two hero skills
  A normal skill usable every 30 seconds, and an SP skill you can fire only once per match. Timing decides the duel.
• Solo quests
  Single-player quests teach the systems while exploring the world.
