505 Games and ArtPlay have announced that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has sold two million copies worldwide, and shared a progress update on the content still to come.

A “Very Positive” Metroidvania since 2019
Set in the eighteenth century, Ritual of the Night follows Miriam, cursed by alchemists, as she fights the demons summoned against her. Since its 2019 release the game has held a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 94% of 24,993 reviews positive at the time of writing.

Online co-op, PvP and DLC previewed
In a video message, producer IGA and director SHUTARO celebrate the milestone and report on the content in development.

The video also addresses the delays, caused mainly by technical issues and the impact of the pandemic. Online play is in development at WayForward, with details of the co-op Chaos Mode and the PvP VS Mode to be announced on September 14. Paid costume DLC and a new Classic Mode 2 were also previewed.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available on PC (Steam), PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
